In October 2021 we had our first meeting to try to form a large umbrella union of research staff, postdocs, and graduate researchers and three years later, we are still deep in the throes of organizing! In these past three years we have listened to the labor concerns of thousands of researchers, received the signed support of over 2,800(!) workers to authorize the formation of a union, submitted these signed cards to the National Labor Relations Board, gone through hearings with the Labor Board and NYU’s lawyers, and are now waiting to hear on our election dates.
To celebrate this third birthday, we will be gathering at Peculier Pub this Friday October 18th at 5:30 PM and would love to see you all there! We will be serving cake at 6:30 so please stick around for that!
We will also be having our next general meeting Thursday (10/17) at Tandon in Room 1078 at 370 Jay Street. Hope to see y’all there as well!
